General Information

  1. The cabin is located at 10,000 feet. Dress accordingly. The temperature is roughly 20 degrees cooler than in Denver. If you are coming from a low elevation, be aware of possible altitude sickness. For information on high-altitude illness, please read this article on FamilyDoctor.org: “High-Altitude Illness: How to Avoid It and How to Treat It.”
  2. There is no phone and no cell phone reception at the cabin (but there is reception about one-half mile away near the cluster of cabins at the entrance to the subdivision).
  3. Due to the size of the cabin, guests are limited to 6 people.
  4. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the guest room has a queen bed, there is sleeper sofa in the living room and a futon in family room. There is a loft which also had a queen bed but requires a code to access it.
  5. Guests need to bring their own linens. If you use the cabin linens, wash and return them right away. For larger groups, we suggest you also bring sleeping bags.
  6. The cabin is not inhabited continuously and there is potential for freezing in winter. It takes just a few minutes to open the cabin when you get there and about one hour to close it at the end of your stay. A detailed checklist is provided. Please plan your time accordingly.
  7. There is a notebook of information at the cabin to help make the most of your trip.
